India Code: Equal Remuneration Act, 1976. Long Title: An Act to provide for the payment of equal remuneration to men and women workers and for the prevention of discrimination, on the ground of sex, against women in the matter of employment and for matters connected in addition to that or incidental to that.
As you said your boss always loads you with extra work and only gives increments to the female employees only then she is completely wrong here. She has no right to deduct your increment or completely cut off your increment.
If both male and female employees work for equal hours or extra hours equally, then they have equal rights to get equal pay.
You can verbally question your boss about this first. But, if he doesn’t respond to you well then you should write a written complaint against this and demand for equal increment.
But even if after doing all the above measures she doesn’t give you your increment then you should go to a good lawyer and discuss your case. You can seek legal help from a lawyer to fight against this discrimination.
