Emotional abuse, also known as psychological abuse, is one of the worst
tactics one can behold on an individual. But, what does emotional abuse
means? To whom it’s happening? Who is the perpetrator and who’s the
victim? In this article today we will answer some questions like this and will
share some facts that are not considered facts.
Let’s talk about what is emotional abuse and how it affects a person.
Emotional abuse is the exploitation of someone’s mental health. It generally
happens when a person accuses or tortures an individual for no reason.
There is a difference between when you get scolded for your mistake and
when you are being tortured and constantly criticized.
This act affects an individual’s mental health to its core and possible cases
are he/she can suffer mental breakdowns, stress, depression, or maybe
something serious.
In the society where we are living, everyone is a feminist nowadays. No one
wants to see the other side of the grass. 90% of the world’s population thinks
that only women get suffered and are tortured. Why we are not talking in
favour of men? Is it too much to ask for men’s safety?
Crimes against men are rising, they are getting humiliated, insulted, tortured
and are totally unheard and unsupported. We, need to collectively raise our
voice against the atrocities being met out on men around us.
Any person identifying as a male is not even taken into consideration when it
comes to cruelty, equality, injustice, discrimination, and what not. We are not
asking beyond women nor we are asking less than them. We want to be equal
to them and have all the rights to live in this society.
Men are being assaulted by their families, relatives, friends, partners, children,
and even colleagues. Men are called stubborn by nature because they do not
show their emotions.
There are tons of ways men are being emotionally damaged:
- They face humiliation by their family or partner
- They are misunderstood in their workplace
- They are not allowed to show tears
- They are getting insulted for being skinny or chubby
- They are forced to have drugs or alcohol And, the list goes on!!
Conclusion
Is there any way men can get freedom from these emotional abuses? What
can be done to protect them? There are many ways to do so, but we need to
allow them the rights on a legal ground so that if they are being abused then
they can take action against it.
Men should be allowed to raise their voices if they are not treated right. We
have to support them emotionally to keep them free from stress or
depression. We must hear them and support them when they need it.
These small activities can change thousands of men’s lives. They must feel
safe and supported. Stand side to them and treat them equally to you.
