The Society CAN NOT prohibit/restrict any person, who is a Bachelor or a Widow from purchasing a Flat in a Society. The concept of Residence in a Society is defined as “Open Membership”, under the Coop. You have all legal rights to be a tenant as a single man/ bachelor. But these claims can be applied only if you want to buy or rent a flat in society but not on personal property.
But if you are getting evicted from your rented house then, it is illegal, society does not have the right to evict the bachelors or the tenants. No, you do not have to vacate your property and they cannot force it. Advise them that you will not vacate the house and report to the police if they try to force you. The company cannot issue such a notice as it is illegal under the law.
