WhatsApp serves as the country’s most widely used chat app but the app also has to fight its battle against fake news and harassing messages almost every day.
According to a PTI report, you can now file a complaint with the DoT against offensive messages received on WhatsApp. To report, the receiver of abusive message should take a screenshot of the message along with the mobile number and mail it to ccaddn-dot@nic.in.
The simplistic design and the convenience of sending messages has made WhatsApp an easy target for anyone to spread fake messages and create havoc among public. But this is going to end now as the chat company has joined hands with the Department of Telecom(DoT) to help report about those who sent fake or abusive messages.
